What is Developmental Delay?
-
This is a classification
that encompasses all forms of learning difficulties and
behavioural problems.
-
Developmental delay describes an incomplete development of the brain.
-
Resulting imbalances could lead to
the symptoms of dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD, ADHD, OCD and
Tourette's
So what can be done?
Careful neurological examination of the child can give an
indication of whether an imbalance is present and where in the nervous system the weakness lies.
Each child will have a different presentation so a tailored
management plan is produced.
Stimulation
of specific areas of the nervous system, in the form of computer generated images,
Chiropractic adjustments and
specific physical exercises are used to improve the balance
and quality of communication.
Advice is also given on nutrition and certain lifestyle
changes that have to be made to support the developing nervous
system.
The combination of the diet changes, adjustments and exercises enables the
under functioning areas of the brain to mature and balance.
Parents, teachers and the children
themselves are reporting excellent results, but research
evaluating our work is at an early stage, so currently our
methods are unproven and results can not be guaranteed.
