Most
patients that attend a Chiropractor do so because they have a
health concern. Usually this problem is stopping them
carry out their normal days work or preventing them doing
something they enjoy. Surprisingly very people attend a
Chiropractor for "pain". indeed most will have put up with
the pain for many months, even years, before seeking help.
Think for a moment
how the body works. Every tissue, organ and structure in
the body is in a constant state of balance with every other
tissue, organ and structure.
There is one system in the body that coordinates
all of these areas. The nervous system. It controls
the release of hormones into the body which control such things
as the blood sugar level, oestrogen and testosterone levels.
It stimulates the movement of the digestive system and the
amount of light going into the eye.
If this system is out of balance disease ensues.
By rebalancing the nervous system the body gets the chance to
return to optimum function. i.e. health.
This may require certain changes to lifestyle to
be made. These changes include such things as rest and
relaxation, mental well being, exercise and good diet.
So what sort of "conditions" can be helped by
rebalancing the nervous system and changing your lifestyle?
A few examples include bed wetting, fertility,
learning difficulties, behavioural problems, digestive system
dysfunction. The list goes on.
But if you fancy a
read go to the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research (from
our links page) for much more!
Or put
"Chiropractic" and the name of your favourite disease into a
search engine.
One criticism that
will be levelled at what you will read is that "They are case
studies and may not be representative".
Medical economist
David Eddy, MD, Ph.D., observes that only 15% of medical
procedures have ever been scientifically verified, and the other
85% of common medical procedures have no "scientific basis!"
Chiropractic is
safe, non-invasive and works in tune with the body. It is
worth giving it a try. If it does not work what have you
